On Schema Reading Theory and English Teaching

Abstract

Schema theory of reading believes that in the process of reading comprehension,the more knowledge of schema is in the mind,the stronger the comprehension competence is.English teachers should encourage students to read widely,and enrich their knowledge in English culture to improve their reading comprehension;strengthen the learning of text organization and tactics to cultivate their ability in forecasting and help them to construct new schema.
