Abstract

Objiective To study the relationship between ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) and left ventricle hypertrophy (LVH) in patients with essential hypertension(EH).Methods 24h Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and echocardiography was performed in 100 EH patients. The relationship between ABPM and LVH was analyzed. Results LVMI in the EH was significantly greater than that in control group.Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and SBP variability and SBP load were closely related to LVH.While diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and DBP variability and DBP load were not correlated with LVH.Conclusion The level of SBP and its load and variability play an important role in develipment of LVH.
