Abstract
Objective To discuss the correlation between sex chromosomal abnormalities and gonadal dysgenesis. Methods The chromosomal G banded karyotypes of 37 cases with primary amenorrhea were analyzed. Results 15 patients with chromosomal abnormalities, including 10 cases of X chromosome aneuploidy,3 with structural abnormalities, and 2 with Y chromosome, were found. The ratio of abnormality was 40.5%.Conclusions Sex chromosome abnormality is one of the main factors of primary amenorrhea. The chromosome examination is necessary for the determination the pathogeny and therapy of amenorrhea.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
