Sui-realism and Luxun's “Absurd” Technique

Abstract

Luxun's employment of 'absurd' technique into his composition can be regarded as a beginning of 'absurd' study in early China. This paper is to put forward the technique 'sui-realism' first, and then through the analysis of Luxun's 'absurd' technique to find the relationship between sui-realism and the school of absurd, by which the significance of 'absurd' technique is to be generalized. This paper aims to explore the characteristics of Chinese traditional culture reflected by 'absurd'; in addition, it aims to reveal the sense of 'absurd' in Luxun's composition and its relation to sui-realism to help better understand Luxun's composition techniques and his concept about literature so as to comprehend his works.
