The Application of the Communicative Approach in English Teaching in Higher Vocational College

The communicative approach is a method of designing the syllabus.It,as a students-center teaching method,attaches much importance to developing the students'innate ability to learn and use a language,aiming at the acquisition of the communicative competence.Setting up situations,successful education,improving teaching art and developing colorful communicative activities of language may be used in practicing of English Teaching in higher vocational college.The basis and safeguard of practicing for communicative approach in English teaching is emphasizing teaching of basic knowledge of language and cultivating students' strategies of learning to form ability of independent learning.
