Initial Investigation on Principle of Replenishing Qi,Nourishing Yin and Activating Blood Circulation for Treatment of Diabetic Nephropathy

The indidence of diabetic nephropathy is gradually increasing and the cost price of treatment is expensive.We investigated the Chinese syndrome patterns of this disease in patients who live in Beijing.The result showed that the main syndrome pattern of daibetic nephropathy was qi and yin deficiency combined with blood stasis.In stage III,the main syndrome was qi and yin deficiency,and blood stasis might co-exist.In stage IV,the main syndorme was qi and yin deficiency combined with blood stasis.In stage V,the syndorme was deficiency of qi,blood,yin and yang,combined with dampness evil or blood stasis.The syndrome of blood stasis persisted in the complete course of disease.Thus,the treatment principle should be based on replenishing qi,nourishing yin and activating blood circulation.We investigated experts by questionnaire and the result supported the aformentioned treatment principle.Experienced Tradtional Chinese doctors also emphasized on this principle.A typical case was reported to illustrate the effectiveness of this principle and the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy was discussed.
