Effect of Changyuning in treating active ulcerative colitis

Abstract
[Objective]to observe the clinical curative effect of Changyuning in the treatment of active ulcerative colitis. [Methods]Sixty cases were randomly divided into the treatment group and control group,30 cases in each group.The treatment group were treated with oral Chinese medicine Changyuning Particles 10g twice a day,while the control group were given oral Mesalamine 1.0 g four times daily.After 8 weeks' treatment,main clinical symptoms,mucous changes as well as the clinical efficacy were observed in both groups. [Results]The total effective rate was 93.3% in the treatment group and 90.0% in the control group,showing no significant difference(P0.05).There was no remarkable difference in clinical symptoms between the two groups(P0.05). [Conclusion]Changyuning has similar effect to Mesalamine in treating active ulcerative colitis,and worth more wide clinical application.
