Discussing Bian Zhilin's Choice of Literary Styles in the 1940s

Around 1941,Bian Zhilin was conscious of the crisis in his poetic writing,what made him transfer to the novel.He created the full-length novel Mountains and Rivers,which now is left fragmentary.From poetry to novel,although the style changed,his form of thinking presented by his poetry extended to the novel.The searching for spirit of epistemology urged Bian Zhilin's novel to contain more details.So narrative fragmentation and contextualization were not only owing to aesthetic principle,but also the result of the pursuit of objectivity.However,when the action took precedence over the thought,deeper crisis occurred to Bian Zhilin,because to perform heroic deeds seemed to have cancelled the meaning of contemplations.
