Abstract
Objective: To determine cinnamaldehyde and cinnamic acid in Xiaoliu Capsules. Methods: RP HPLC method was used. The samples were separated on a Luna C 18 column with the mobile phase of acetonitrile 0.1% phosphoric acid (32∶78) and the detection wavelength was set at 285 nm.Results: The calibration curve were linear in the range of 2.63~26.3 μg/ml cinnamaldehyde ( r =0.999 6) and 0.736~7.36 μg/ml cinnamic acid ( r =0.999 9). Its average recovery were 98.4 % and 98.7%. Conclusion: The method is quick, accurate and with a good reproducibility and can be used to control the quality of the preparation.
