Design and Development of a Main-gateway in Home Network

Abstract

This paper introduces the design and development of a main-gateway in Home Network.The principal function of the main-gateway is to actualize the external network access of home network.The device accessing Internet in home network is particularly emphasized.The software design of the main-gateway is described and the solutions of two key problems about inter-process communication are analyzed.Moreover,the actualization of the device accessing PSTN and IEEE 802.11b WLAN is also briefly mentioned.The system has been applied by Chunlan Group and regarded as a demo system on home network in embedded system for teaching and experiment purpose.
