Abstract
Adjusting tuyere area is an important method for blast furnace bottom adjustment.By building the blast sending system of blast furnace,this paper simulated the effects of changing tuyere area on tuyere velocity,flow and blast kinetic energy,and corrected misunderstandings of some blast furnace operators as well.Results show that decreasing the area of minor tuyeres will reduce the kinetic energy of these tuyeres but increase the others.Only decreasing the areas of major tuyeres will increase the kinetic energy of every tuyere.The reason that decreasing the areas of minor tuyeres could restrain the edge gas flow lied in the decrease of blast flow in these tuyeres.
