The Relationship between Type D Personality and Coronary Heart Disease Cuthe Depression

Objective:To investigate the relationship between type-D personality and coronary heart disease with depoession.Methods:The DS-16 and HRSD were examined in 56 patients with coronary heart disease and 30 healthy control subjects,meanwhile the level of blood lipid were measured.Results:The HRSD score in patients with CHD was significant higher than those in normal controls.Patients with coronary heart disease were more likely to be classified as distressed personality(type-D),especialy in depressed patients.Type-D subjects had significantly higher total cholesterol and lower-density lipoprotein cholesterol than those subjects without a distressed personality.Conclusion:Type D personality is closed relative to CHD.Type D subjects may possess certain biological characteristics.
