Abstract

[Objectives]To observe the clinical efficacy of ambroxol hydrochloride injection on acute attack of chronic bronchitis.[Methods]80 patients with acute attack of chronic bronchitis in No. 537 Hospital of PLA from October 2006 to December 2008 were randomly divided into the control group (40 cases) and the treatment group (40 cases). The control group was given the conventional treatment which included anti-infection, expectorant and antiasthmatic. On the basis of conventional therapy, the treatment group received additional ambroxol hydrochloride injection 30 mg + 5% glucose (or normal saline) injection 250 ml by intravenous drip, twice a day for 7~14 days. The incidence of cough and expectoration, change of lung rale, and recovery of body temperature were observed.[Results]In the treatment group, there were 11 cases with marked effect (27.50%), 16 cases showed effect (65.00%), 3 cases were no effect (7.50%), and the total effective rate was 92.50%. In the control group, there were 7 cases with marked effect (17.50%), 23 cases showed effect (57.50%), 10 cases were no effect (25.00%). There was significant difference between two groups (P0.05). No adverse reaction was found in two groups during the treatment period, the clinical medication was safe.[Conclusion]On the basis of conventional therapy of anti-infection, expectorant and antiasthmatic, additional ambroxol hydrochloride injection has definite therapeutic effect and good safety on acute attack of chronic bronchitis, is worth popularizing and applying in clinic.
