Abstract
Objective:Observe the current drug abuse conditions among the registered drug addicts in Jiangxi Province in order to provide information for the government.Methods:The national survey table Drug Abuse Monitoring Survey was used to investigate the drug abuse situation among the drug addicts admitted to the detoxification institutions in the year of 2005 in Jiangxi Province.Results:Among the drug addicts,79.81% is male,the ratio of men to women is 3.97:1;The average age is 31±5.72,mainly between 26~45,which occupied 96.42%;82.80% received highest education in middle school or primary school;59.10% is single;67.55% is unemployed;the main abusing drug is heroin(98.93%);Injection is the main route(80.90%;in which 40.17% have a history of sharing needles).Conclusion:(1)Most drug addicts are between 20-50,single,with lower education and unemployment;(2)The main abusing drug is heroin and the relapse rate is high;(3)Injecting and needle sharing promote the prevalence of infectious disease among drug addicts.
