Effect of Valsartan in treatment of atrial fibrillation

Abstract
Objective This paper is to observe the effect of Valsartan in treatment of hypertensive patients with atrial fibrillation.Methods 60 patients with atrial fibrillation were included in the study and randomly divided into two groups.The trial group were treated with Valsartan and the control group were treated with Amlodipine.The duration of observation was up to two years.we Compared the two groups with the rate of sinus rhythm and changes in left atrial function.Results After two years of follow-up,there was a significant difference between the two groups.The rate of sinus rhythm in trial group was higher than the control group and improvement of left atrial function in the trial group was better than the control group.Conclusion Valsartan can reduce the occurrence of atrial fibrillation in hypertensive patients and improve left atrial function.
