Abstract
Casein method was used to determine the content of tannin in Cape jasmine leaves. The results showed that there was good relationship between gallic acid concentration and absorbance of gallic acid with a linear range from 1.0016 to 6.009 6 μg/mL(R=0.999 5).The average recovery in the spiked samples was 96.04% with the SD of 0.012 6% and RSD of 2.03%(n=6).The method is accurate, credible and reproducible,so it can be applied to determine the tannin content in leaves.
