God's Judgment and Lawsuit Embodied in the Planchette Writing in a Village in Southwest China

In the transitional process from a kingdom to a modern nation-state,Tunbao Village,which is located in central Guizhou,needed to re-understand and reconstruct the human and ethnic relations among the clan members and villagers.The Bao clan members had a series of religious activities like planchette writing between 1921 and 1924 because they had disputes over the belongingness of their ancestral graves.These religious activities with a sense of God's judgment can reflect the dispute-solving mechanism,social order,cultural value of such rural society and may help promote the related studies.
