Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the role of the changes in blood coagulation function, acute physiology function and chronic health evaluation system APACHEⅡ score in the evaluation of severity of the disease and prognosis in patients with sepsis.METHODS The APACHEⅡscore of 50cases of patients with sepsis who were detected from Dec 2010to Jun 2012was evaluated, then the blood coagulation function including prothrombin time(PT),partial thromboplastin time(APTT),and platelet count(PLT)were determined and compared with the non-sepsis group, and the correlation between the coagulation function and the APACHEⅡ score of the sepsis patients was analyzed.RESULTS In sepsis group, the PT,APTT,PLT,APACHE Ⅱscores were respectively(16.6±5.53)s,(105.83±28.07)s,(212.67±66.46)×109/L,and(15.91±4.97)s,significantly higher than(10.73±3.58)s,(61.58±19.24)s,(156.74±48.98)×109/L,and(3.18±0.99)of the non-sepsis group with score. In the death group, the PT,APTT,PLT,and APACHE Ⅱscores were respectively(23.47±7.82)s,(141.69±44.28)s,(281.84±88.08)×109/L,and(26.91±8.41),significantly higher than(12.73±4.24)s,(91.58±28.62)s,(173.76±54.30)×109/L,and(9.73±3.04)of the survival group, the differences were significant(P0.05).The level of PT,APTT,or PLT of the sepsis patients was positively correlated with the APACHE Ⅱscore(P0.05).CONCLUSIONS The blood coagulation function parameters and APACHEⅡscore can accurately assess the severity of the disease and the prognosis of the sepsis patients.
