Abstract
water content and compaction of soils have great effect on their shear strength.Considering the two variables, laboratory study is put forward.Through multiple linear regression, the relationship between the two factors and shear strength is studied, and a conclusion that compaction has little effect on shear strength with great water content in soils, and water content is major factor,is drawn.preliminary study on the relationship between shear stress and and displacement is also given.
