Comparison of the Theory of Alienation in Marx and Marcuse

Marx and Marcuse's theory of alienation is proposed for the social problems faced by the two different periods of development in the capitalist society.Through analysis of the three angles of people's alienation,technology's alienation and society's alienation,Marx proposes the labor alienation is the alienation of man's essence,technology alienation is mainly achieved dominance in the machine and capital,social alienation is the disharmony of man and nature,man and man,and the man himself;Marcuse believes that the consumption alienation is the manifestation of the people's alienation,the technology alienation with new changes,but it's essence has not changed,and social alienation is reflected in the economic,political and cultural control.Comparing the theory of alienation in Marx and Marcuse,we can make the full range of multi-angle look at the problem of alienation in contemporary capitalist society,and provide a theoretical reference on solving the problem of alienation in the process of social development in China.
