Research and Implementation of Network Management System Based-on SNMP

Abstract

This paper introduces the principle of SNMP.By combining it with the management information system and using SNMP polling technology and multi-threading technology,a kind of Network monitor system based on Client/Server Mode is presented.These tool modules are included the user management,equipment,real-time monitoring,information query and so on.According to enterprise nets and the Campus Network,a comprehensive network monitor system based on SNMP is presented.It can monitor the network's real-time changes,realize the failure to specific users,and timely feedback the abnormal information to the network administrator through the log,SMS,etc.The testing result shows that this kind of system greatly improves the accuracy of network fault location and the performance of network management.
