Effects and mechanism of the method of invigorating spleen to eliminate dampness and dredge collaterals on rheumatoid arthritis

The pathogenesis of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is believed to be the deficiency of Qi and blood, damp abundance due to splenic asthenia, phlegm and blood stasis, thus the principle of treating RA from spleen was proposed, Chinese herbal drugs Xinfeng Capsule (XFC) was used to invigorate spleen, eliminate dampness and dredge collaterals, achieving good effect. On the effect of XFC improving the symptoms of RA joints, this study focus on the XFC ’ s effects on the RA anemia, platelet, lipid metabolism, pulmonary function, depression, quality of life and other extra-articular pathological changes, exploring the mechanism of the treating method of invigorating spleen to eliminate dampness and dredge collaterals in the treatment of extra-articular pathological changes.
