Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical effect on acute laryngitis complicated with dyspnea between budesonide aerosol inhalation and dexamethasone. Methods From March 2011 to July 2013,131 acute laryngitis children complicated with dyspnea were selected in the Jiangxi Provincial Children's Hospital, and they were randomly divided into observation group( n =66) and control group( n = 65). Observation group was given budesonide aerosol inhalation, while control group was given dexamethasone intravenous drip. Disappeared time of clinical symptoms, hospital stays, clinical effect after 24 hours of treatment and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results Disappeared time of laryngeal stridor,bark-like cough and hoarseness, hospital stays of observation group were shorter than those of control group( P 0. 05); the clinical effect of observation group was better than that of control group( P 0. 05). The incidence of adverse reactions of observation group was 4. 5%,that of control group was 7. 7%,the difference was not statistically significant( P 0. 05).Conclusion Budesonide aerosol inhalation has better clinical effect on acute laryngitis complicated with dyspnea than dexamethasone, can quickly relieve the clinical symptoms,is safe.
