Abstract

Objective: To study susceptibilities of the Neisseria gonorrhoeae to ceftriaxone in Nanchang. Methods: The minimum concentration (MIC) inhibitory to Neisseria gonorrhoeae of ceftriaxone was determined by using the agar dilution method. Results: We isolated four strains resistant to ceftriaxone first time in Nanchang; 80%(96/120) of the isolates were susceptible to ceftriaxone,3.33%(4/120) were ceftriaxone resistance. Conclusion: Although ceftriaxone could be given priority to treating patients with Neisseria gonorrhoeae, we must pay more attention to the emergence of ceftriaxone-resistant strains.
