Abstract
Digital elevation model(referred to as DEM) is core data of three-dimensional analysis,which in many areas of design and decision-making plays an auxiliary role.DEM data and the current scale type and increasing the amount of data on the DEM data storage management have become increasingly demanding,but also the functions of security of data,rapid,real-time,multi-user access were required,so the spatial database management system the best solution is to adapt to this request.Spatial database technology comprise of three main points:Spatial data model is the core of spatial database,and at the same time it is the basis of other technology of spatial database;Spatial index which is the clue of spatial data query based on spatial data model;spatial data query language provides a method of spatial data accessing and operation.With the combination of these three areas,the traditional relational database extended to spatial databases,and also makes it possible to deal with complex spatial data easily and flexibly.In accordance with different scales in different parts of the building DEM database,the text database content is included in a detailed analysis;through comprising various types of spatial database technology programs,selecting ArcSDE for SQL Server technology building a database,the spatial data and attribute data in unified storage were realized;Arc Engine(AE) development methods were used to develop a database management system,and taking some areas of the DEM database systems as an example,the database development and function design has been finished,implementation the various types of the data query,browsing and management were realized.
