Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of thermal moxibustion therapy combined with Jiaji acupoint injection on postherpetic neuralgia(PHN).Methods:Forty-six cases of PHN patients were randomly divided into thermal moxibustion group(n=15),control group(n=16) and the western medicine group(n=15).The thermal moxibustion group received the thermal moxibustion combined with Jiaji acupoint injection, the control group received Jiaji acupoint injection, and the western medicine group was given oral use of Aciclovir Tablets.Three groups received treatment for 2 months and then the clinical curative effect was assessed by the visual analogue scale(VAS) scores after treatment. Results:After treatment, the effective rate was 93.4% in the thermal moxibustion group,81.3% in the control group and 66.7% in the western medicine group. The difference of total effective rate was statistical significance in the three groups(P0.05).After treatment,VAS scores in the three groups were decreased, and VAS scores in thermal moxibustion group differed from those in the control group and western medicine group(P0.05).Conclusion:The thermal moxibustion combined with acupoint injection can reduced the postherpetic neuralgia, and its clinical curative effect is better than acupoint injection or western medicine therapy alone.
