Abstract
The high molecular weight subunit(HMW) in glutenin subunits composition of 94 Chinese wheat lines were separated by SDS-PAGE.The result are as follows: 1.the most of good cultivars have good subunits such as 1,7+8,or 5+10 respectively coded by Glu-A1,Glu-B1 and Glu-D1,and a few of cultivars have the good subunits 1,7+8/17+18 and 5+10;2.The HMW-GS compositions of 94 cultivars in China were abundant,and 16 subunit patterns and 28 subunit combinations were detected in these cultivars.The mean quality score of the 94 cultivars was 6.9,ranging from 4 to 10;3.The 44 cultivars carry 5+10 high quality subunits,5 cultivars carry 17+18 subunit and 13 cultivars carry 2 subunit,the results can be applied in the quality breeding program.
