Abstract
From 1996 to 2001, an extensive investigation on the inter-tidal crabs at Naozhou Island, Guangdong Province was made.The island area is very rich in crab resources.63 species,belonging to 11 families, and 34 genera have so far been identified,in which 43 species were of soft-inter-tidal zone and 20 species of rock-inter-tidal zone.Crabs in this habitat fall into the South China Sea Branch.Almost the majority are typical of the tropics or sup-tropics.This paper reports their composition and ecological distribution in Naozhou Island.
