On Liang Qi-chao's "New Style

Liang Qi-chao was the main advocate and organizer of the literary reform in modern China. The transformation of the 1998 Reform party and its philosophy, and the influence of both Chinese and Western cultures are important reasons for Liang's advocating of the literary reform. He not only bitterly attacked the decadent and rigid traditional literary style, but also advocated a literary style that was sharp in the use of words, coherent in presentation, and smooth and lucid. At the same time, he published a large number of new style prose articles which sped up the transition from feudal literature to modern literature in China. 
