Abstract

Tin oxide nanoparticles were synthesized by the hydrothermal method, using SnCl_2·2H_2O,C_2H_5OH and NaOH as reactants. The obtained particles were characterized by XRD and TEM.XRD patterns show that as-prepared samples are of the tetragonal rutile structure of SnO_2,and the width of the diffraction peaks of SnO_2 becomes narrower with increasing temperature.TEM confirms that the morphologies of SnO_2 particles are nanocrystals, and that the diameters of SnO_2 particles have narrow size distributions.
