Abstract
Taking Gerbera as the research object, the vase solution uptake rate, bending score,POD,SOD,MDA and vase life of Gerbera cut flower were investigated in order to compare the effects of different vase solutions(tap water, deionized water, distilled water and citric acid) on the qualities of vase life of the cut flower. It was found that the use of distilled water as vase solution could maintain a high water absorption rate, inhibit the decrease of POD and SOD activity, increase the ability for scavenging superoxide free radicals, decrease the damage of reactive oxygen in petals, reduce MDA accumulation effectively, maintain the integrity of cell membrane system, and delay the aging of Gerbera cut flower.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
