Abstract

Esterase isozyme zymogram polymorphisms of 10 cultivated strains in Auricularia auricula (Hook) Underw were investigated using vertical slab polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. There were 25 bands of esterase isozyme in the zymograms of young mycelia (7d) of 10 tested strains, each of 10 strains had 2 or 3 bands respectively. The 10 strains were divided only into two groups according to their zymogram phenotypes. The esterase isozyme zymograms of old mycelia (72d) were significantly different from those of young mycelia, 44 bands existed in their zymograms, and each strain had 3-6 bands respectively. The 10 cultivated strains were divided into eight groups according to their zymogram phenotypes.
