Abstract

Gouding,an old kingdom in Southwest China,first appeared in Han Shu.The kingdom of Gouding was taken over by emperor Han Wu-di and lately its head was conferred by emperor Zhaodi.The capital of Juding was located in today's Guangnan county of Yunnan province,areas under its jurisdiction included the whole Wenshan prefecture,middle and east of Honghe prefecture, parts of Yuxi,Quqin,Sanshi of Baise city with Zhuang nationality as the main residents.As a society under the serf system,the kingdom was able to produce and apply bronze tools and weapons in large quantities.With a history of 583 years,it developed strong economic strength,powerful military strength and a splendid social culture.
