Abstract

One strain of paramyxovirus typeⅠ(from pigeon, named as PPMV) was isolated and identificated serologically. The results of virulence test indicated that the PPMV showed similar pathogenicity to La Sota strain of NDV,which was avirulent to chickens naturally. The results of amino acid sequence analysis showed that the sequence around the cleavage site of the fusion protein of PPMV was 112 G-R-Q-G-R-L117,which is typical motif of avirulent type. After inactivated, the isolate was inoculated to chickens and pigeons, respectively.High level of HI antibody against the isolate was detected. Then the immunized chickens were challenged by F48E9 strain of NDV and the two field strains of CPMV,GPMV(PMV was solated from chickens and geese respectively and preserved by ourselves.).The results showed that all of the immunized chickens could be protected. Therefore,we were sure that the inactivated oil vaccination against PPMV was safe and effective to chickens against challenge of GPMV and NDV.Crossing test of HI showed that there was little difference on antigenicity between PPMV and La Sota strain of NDV.
