Characteristics and forecast of storm flood in Jialing River Basin

The storm flood of Jialing River in July,2010 brought serious damage to Sichuan Province and Chongqing City.We analyze and summarize the characteristics of the basin and the hydrological forecast scientifically.It is shown that the storm in Jialing River Basin is characterized by abundant in amount and concentrated in distribution;the flood fluctuates sharply with high flood peak and large variation amplitude.According to the construction and distribution of water resources projects in the basin,we make a sectional forecast scheme and apply it in the flood of Jialing River in July,2010.The forecast error is small.
