Abstract

According to the residual coal pillars,corner seam,unregulated block coal quantity and other problems after mining operation completed exited in the longwall coal mining method,an EML340 continuous miner was researched and developed.The actual application of the EML340 continuous miner and the related equipment to the gateway driving and shortwall mining face in Wulanmuluen Coal Mine and Dongpo Coal Mine showed that the completed set equipment could have a rapid driving of the large cross section seam gateway,could have a safety and high efficient mining of the coal pillar,unregulated seam block and other seam and could provide an effective access to improve the coal resource mining rate and the technical upgrading and reconstruction of the middle and small mines in China.The mining method could be a rational supplement to the fully mechanized longwall mining and could improve the mining rate of the resources.
