Abstract
PurposeTo assay antibacterial activity of Smixlax glabra Roxb . decoction against 8 tested bacteria by new method.MethodsThe activity was assayed using K B method. The minimum inhibitory and minimum bactericidal concentrations (MIC and MBC respectively) were tested using the broth dilution method. Results Smixlax glabra Roxb . decoction showed strong and wide antibacterial activity against 8 tested bacteria.ConclusionThe MIC, MBC and inhibitory bacteria rate of the plant decoction suggest their potential herb of inhibiting and killing bacteria.
