Abstract
【Objective】To investigate the mRNA expression and clinical significance of human papilloma virus 16(HPV16) and P16 in human breast cancer.【Methods】86 patients were enrolled in our study. The breast carcinoma tissues and adjacent normal breast tissues were collected for RT-PCR and Real-time PCR analysis.【Results】The positive expression rates of HPV16 was 62.80 and 55.8% in breast carcinoma and normal tissues,respectively(P0.05).However,Real-time PCR analysis showed that the mRNA expression of HPV16 was 0.774±0.162 and 0.451±0.137 in breast carcinoma and normal tissues,respectively(P0.01).The mRNA expression of P16 was significantly lower in breast carcinoma tissues than that of normal control tissues by RT-PCR or Real-time PCR analysis. The mRNA expression of HPV16 and P16 was significant related with lymphatic metastasis, and clinical pathologic stage in human breast carcinoma(P0.05).The mRNA expression of HPV16 was negatively related to that of P16(r =-0.614,P0.01).【Conclusion】The expression of HPV16 and downregulation of P16 had a closed relationship with the development of human breast cancer. The different expression of HPV16 and P16 might be used as the marks for estimating the prognosis of breast carcinoma.
