Abstract
This arrticle expounds Xu Wei’s artistic success together with his uncommon talent, unique personality and unusual experience, especially by analysing the process of going “mad”. His talent is embodied in his military ability and unique taste in literature and art. His personality makes him never bow to rulers, but through his works he curses them and redicules the reality in those days. And it also builds up his supernormal aesthetic standard. His unusual experience has great impact on his literature and art creation. Through out his life, Xu Wei was unfortunate. But he was only one epitome.
