Abstract
Because I Could not Stop for Death is one of the representative works on death by the American poet Dickenson. Based on the stylistic theories, the thesis tries to do a stylistic analysis on the poem at the phonological, graphological and semantic level, in order to have a deep understanding of the distinct stylistic features and literary charm of Dickenson's poems.
