Abstract

Total 109 materials both at home and abroad were evaluated for resistance to S.fuliginea race 2F by inoculating spore suspension in seedling stage. The results showed that 19 materials showed high resistance to S.fuliginea race 2F;37 materials showed middle resistance;33 materials showed middle susceptible;20 materials showed highly susceptible. In resistant materials, six thick-skinned materials from the USA,one thick-skinned material from France, two thick-skinned materials from Japan, and two thin-skinned materials from China were included. This study indicated that resources had resistant genes which had a potential value to melon powdery mildew resistance improvement and resistance breeding.
