Abstract
Objective To compare the effects of different extraction methods for total flavonoids from tartary buckwheat seeds. Methods The total flavonoids were extracted from tartary buckwheat seeds by Soxhlet extraction method, microwave extraction method, ultrasonic wave method, alkali water method and hot water method, respectively. The content of total flavonoids was determined by HPLC and the extraction yield was calculated. Results The extraction yield of total flavonoids was highest by Soxhlet extraction method, second by microwave extraction method and ultrasonic wave method, lowest by alkali water method and hot water method. Conclusion The microwave extraction method is rapid and efficient, which is the appropriate method for the extraction of total flavonoids from tartary buckwheat seeds.
