On the High Damping Response Spectrum Procedure of the Structural Analysis with the Fluid Viscous Damper

Based on the application of the fluid viscous dampers designed for a school building with the Response Spectrum Procedures of the Chinese Seismic Code and the American Standard(ASCE 7-05),the article adopted three different calculation methods to work out the response spectrum under high damping with the results of each method compared.Besides,it also uses the time-history analysis results with SAP2000 program to verify the various simplified response spectrum procedures with the hope of providing references for the design of damper's vibration control.
