Abstract
Numerical simulation of the original centrifugal compressor was made by using Reynold averaged Navier-Stokes equations. And the centrifugal compressor was improved based on the analysis of flow field in it. Three compressors with inlet angles 56°, 49°, 43° were designed and their characteristic lines and the pictures of the distribution of velocity vectors were shown. The 43°-inlet angle impeller is chosen as the final design considering the pressure ratio, efficiency and the stability range of all the compressors.
