Abstract

【Objective】 To investigate the correlation of allergy and the serum levels of specific IgE against mite and cockroach allergens in the patients with allergy rhinitis in Shenzhen.【Methods】 The serum levels of specific IgE against mite and cockroach allergens of 1,935 outpatients who were recruited during 1998 to 2010 at ENT department in our hospital were detected by ELISA.【Results】 The positive rate of specific IgE against mite and cockroach allergens in the patients with allergy rhinitis were fairly high. The serum levels of specific IgE against mite allergen was significantly higher than that of cockroach allergen(P 0.01).【Conclusions】 Dust mites and cockroaches were both the main reason causing allergic rhinitis, especially dust mites, the prevention and treatment work of allergic rhinitis should be mainly around these allergens unfolding.
