Analysis of the in Vitro Test for Mite and Cockroach Allergen for Patients with Allergic Disease

Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlation of allergy and the serum levels of specific IgE against mite and cockroach allergens in the patients with allergy disease.Methods The specific IgE levels against mite and cockroach allergens were detected by ELISA on the blood serum samples of 199 outpatients who were recruited during 2004 Oct to 2005 Oct at Respiratory department and Allergy department.Results The positive rate against the mite allergens(Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus(d1),Dermatophagoides farinae(d2),and Blomia tropicalis(d201)of the children was higher than that of adults and showed stronger positive result.For the patients allergic to cockroach,the positive results were all under the class IV level.For those patients who were allergic to both of mite and cockroach,the specific IgE against mite allergen specific IgE was significantly higher then that against cockroach allergen(P0.01).Conclusion Mite and cockroach allergens are important allergens of allergic diseases,from which mite allergen played a dominant role.For those patients who are allergic to both mite and cockroach,they are proved to be more sensitive to mite allergen.
