Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical application of pancreatic duct stent in the endoscopic treatment of difficult ERCP.Methods From January 2004??December2009 we placed the pancreatic duct stent in 55 patients to prevent post-ERCP pancreatitis in difficult ERCP,58 patients(control group) had no pancreatic stent compared with the same period, after the two groups using the same medication, removed pancreatic stent (an average of 10 days) after stable condition, the incidence of hyperamylasemia and PEP were observed. Results The incidence of hyperamylasemia and PEP in pancreatic duct stent group was respectively significantly lower than that in control group (12.73% VS 29.31%,12.73% VS 29.31%,3.64% VS 15.52%,P 0.05).Conclusion To some extent, pancreatic duct stent may decrease the incidence of PEP and hyperamylasemia, and can reduce the severity of pancreatitis after ERCP,however,we need large sample to confirm.
