Analysis and Control of Welding Distortion for Steel Oil Tank

Abstract

The characteristics of the welding process of the steel oil tank were analyzed,and a finite element model for the welding structure between lateral nozzle and cylinders was established using finite element analysis method.The thermal-structure coupling analysis was carried out in an indirect method and a quantitative description of the temperature field and residual stress field were provided,which can provide theoretical references for the welding production and welding distortion control.Practice has proved that the welding distortion can be predicted accurately by means of welding numerical simulation,and the robust design of welding fixture is realized.On the basis of the existing welding process,the welding deformation reduces effectively by the aid of welding fixture,and the welding quality one-time pass rate is in 98% above.The dimensional and geometrical tolerances of the welding product have met the drawing requirements.
