Abstract
Though the efficiency of IP-based multicast is undeniable, the deployment of IP multicast has met many difficulties.Application layer multicast (ALM) is an alternative which enables rapid deployment of multicast applications in Internet. This paper proposes a distributed application layer multicast routing algorithm based on weighted selection function. It tries to avoid local triangle routing problem and takes proximity into consideration when constructing a multicast tree.Simulation results show it is a practical theme.
