Clinical Experience in Treating Acute Eczema with Combination of MEBO Ointment and Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction

Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of MEBO ointment combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction for treatingacute eczema.Methods For 20 patients with acute eczema of different causes and locations,whiletopically smearing MEBO on the wounds(with a thickness of about 1.0- 1.5 mm,dressing change three times a day),a decoction made from 16 TCMincluding honeysuckle,poria cocos,fructus forsythia was orally administered(one dosage every day,taken in the morning and evening separately).The change of the skin lesion wasobserved.Results Among the 20 patients,19 completed the treatment and healed well,one patient did not complete the treatment due to personal reason,and all patients had no obvious side reactions during the course of treatment.Conclusion MEBO ointment combined with Traditional Chinese Medicine Decoction for treating acute eczema can alleviate pain and itching,prevent and treat wound infection,worthy of clinical application and promotion.
